Why Should I Join?
Becoming a member is a great way to get involved; it’s your co-op, too, and membership provides benefits to you as both a customer and a co-owner. You’ll be eligible for special discounts, and you’ll also be able to help shape the way the Co-op works and grows.
Co-op Policies: What am I supporting?
By nature, all co-ops share a fundamental respect for all human beings and a belief in their capacity to improve themselves economically and socially through mutual help. Co-ops provide education to their communities, and work for the sustainable development of these communities through policies accepted by their members.
Co-ops are based on the values of:
- Self-help
- Self-responsibility
- Democracy
- Equality
- Equity
- Solidarity
Cooperative members adhere to the ethical values of:
- Honesty
- Openness
- Social responsibility
- Caring for others
Co-op members join friends and neighbors in building:
- A locally-owned and democratically-controlled economic institution that serves the needs of the community
- A business that brings integrity into the marketplace
- A company that is responsive and operates with the consumers’ interests at heart
- A business far less likely to pull up stakes and leave in hard times
- Community connections
